9-month-old child of woman killed in Cicero double homicide rushed to hospital with gunshot wound

A 9-month-old boy is in serious-to-critical condition Wednesday after he was shot during a double homicide in Cicero Tuesday night in which his mother and another relative were killed.

“About 11 a.m., Chicago Fire did a transfer of a pediatric patient from St. Anthony’s Hospital to Comer Children’s Hospital,” said fire spokesman Larry Langford. “The baby is in serious to critical condition, suffering from a gunshot wound.”

Some New Year’s Eve revelers who opted to take a special, late-night Metra BNSF train were left scrambling to find alternative transportation after the train departed early.

The commuter rail service had advertised later-than-usual trains on all of its lines for the holiday.

Three days after he intercepted two passes against the Falcons, Bears rookie cornerback Tyrique Stevenson was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week. He had five tackles and four pass breakups, too.

Police are investigating a possible connection between a male found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound Wednesday morning and the fatal shooting of two women the night before in southwest suburban Cicero.

Jessica Hughes, 29, and Myeshia Newby, 19, were found shot to death about 7:45 p.m. Tuesday in the 1800 block South of 48th Court, according to a statement from the town of Cicero spokesman and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Читать дальше...

2 women shot, killed in domestic dispute in Cicero; search underway for suspect

Police are searching for someone who shot and killed two women Tuesday night in southwest suburban Cicero.

Officers found the women, 19 and 29, with gunshot wounds around 7:45 p.m. in the 1800 block of South 48th Court, a spokesperson for the Cicero Police Department said.

They were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where they were pronounced dead, police said.

Teen boy wounded in Austin shooting

A teenage boy was shot and wounded Tuesday in an apartment in Austin.

Just before 5 p.m., the 15-year-old was inside the residence in the 1700 block of North Mango Avenue when he was shot, Chicago police said. It wasn’t clear from where the shots were fired.

The boy suffered a gunshot wound to the right leg and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, police said.
