Bears coach Matt Eberflus feels good about his job, ‘welcomes’ end-of-season evaluation from bosses

Bears coach Matt Eberflus has dodged questions about his job security the last few weeks and Friday again declined to say whether he has clarity on his future with the team, but he is confident in how his work will hold up to scrutiny in end-of-season meetings with team president Kevin Warren and general manager Ryan Poles.

Chicago murals: Aliens, monsters dominate Berwyn mural, but what’s with the chicken wing shooting a laser?

The images in the Berwyn mural are vintage sci-fi — from alien spaceships and a shrieking woman horrified by something in the sky to characters from old “Planet of the Apes” movies.

But what is that oddly shaped brown object, surrounded by a yellow-and-green fluorescent glow, that seems to be firing a laser beam?

My mother lived to be 91 years old, an age her mother did not see.

She smoked and was a worrier who had lived a simple life. She walked great distances to the store most days, even in the cold of winter and summer’s heat.

My father let most things roll off his back. He enjoyed the holidays and loved company, cigars and good food. He died suddenly the year of his 80th birthday. Читать дальше...
