2 shot, 1 fatally, in Little Village

One person was killed and another wounded in a shooting Saturday night in Little Village.

The pair was stopped at a stop sign just before midnight in the 2500 block of South Trumbull Avenue when someone in a white sedan opened fire, Chicago police said.

A man, 22, suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Two Chicago police officers were caught in the crossfire of a shooting early Sunday in Humboldt Park.

Just after 2 a.m., officers were on patrol in the 3800 block of West Augusta Boulevard when someone began shooting, according to Chicago police.

A bullet struck the windshield of their squad car, police said. One officer was struck in his bullet-proof vest, and another suffered injuries from the shattered glass. Читать дальше...

DEAR ABBY: Eight years ago, my oldest son, a police officer, quit talking to us. We had no fights, no arguments -- he just stopped answering our calls, and I no longer was allowed to see my grandchildren. As the year progressed, he also alienated his sister and brothers. For the next three years, I continued trying to contact him or my daughter-in-law, who I also thought I was close to, but they wouldn't return my calls. Person in custody in South Loop shooting that killed 1, wounded teen

A person was in custody Saturday night in connection with a shooting in the South Loop that left one dead and a teenage boy wounded.

Officers responded shortly after 8 p.m. to a report of gunfire and found the two wounded in the parking lot of a bank in the 500 block of West Roosevelt Road, Chicago police said in a statement.

Officers treated both until they could be taken by paramedics to Stroger Hospital, police said. Читать дальше...
