Fire set for rare repeat on artificial turf

As a youngster coming up the ranks, Fire midfielder Fabian Herbers sometimes would have to play on artificial surfaces. Not every experience on turf in his native Germany was a pleasant one.

“It feels like you’re playing on concrete,” Herbers recalled. “They just build on top of a parking lot or whatever. It’s not great. It’s just super hard, and it doesn’t really go deep. Читать дальше...

South Side Chicago shooting leaves man, 29, dead in Auburn Gresham parking lot

A 29-year-old man was shot to death Friday night on the South Side.

The man, whose name hasn't been released, was standing in a parking lot at about 9:20 p.m. in the 800 block of West 87th Street in Auburn Gresham when a silver sedan drove up and someone inside the car shot him, according to the Chicago police, who said officers founds him on the ground, dead from multiple gunshot wounds.
